My Timeline is a private, invite-only app for keeping a life's timeline of photos, videos, and moments. This page explains what information we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have, including how to delete your account.
Information we collect
- Account information: your email address, name (if you provide one), and password (stored securely by our authentication provider — we never see or store it in plain text).
- Timeline content: photos, videos, captions, titles, dates, and comments you or people you invite add to a timeline.
- Timeline membership: who you've invited to a timeline and the access level (viewer or editor) you've given them.
How we use your information
We use your information only to operate My Timeline itself:
- To create and secure your account, and to sign you in.
- To store and display the entries and media on timelines you own or have been invited to.
- To send account-related emails you'd expect — sign-up confirmation, password resets, and invitations to join a timeline.
- To notify timeline members when a new entry is added.
We do not use your data for advertising, we do not sell it, and there is no public discovery of timelines or profiles — a timeline is only ever visible to people its owner explicitly invites.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of service providers to run My Timeline, and your data is only ever shared with them for that purpose:
- Supabase — our database, authentication, and file storage provider.
- Resend — our transactional email provider, used only to deliver account emails (confirmations, password resets, invitations).
We do not share your data with advertisers, data brokers, or any other third party.
Data security
Timeline media and entries are protected by row-level access rules so that only a timeline's owner and the people they've invited can view or edit it. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text.
Your choices
- You can remove someone's access to a timeline you own at any time, from My Account in the app.
- You can edit your name or change your password at any time, from My Account in the app.
- You can permanently delete your account at any time by opening the app, going to My Account → Delete Account, and confirming. This removes your personal information and deletes any timeline you own that no one else is a member of, along with its photos and videos. Timelines you share with other people are handed off to another member instead of being deleted, so shared family history isn't lost when one person leaves.
Children's information
My Timeline accounts are intended for adults. A timeline's birth date and entries may describe a child (for example, a parent keeping a timeline of their kid growing up), but that information is entered and controlled by the adult account holder, not by the child.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes in a way that affects how your data is handled, we'll update this page and change the "Last updated" date above.
